RECYCLING INFORMATION

Gentry Primary School recycles aluminum pop cans, cell phones, ink jet cartridges, DVD movies, video games, laptop computers, iPod MP3 players, digital cameras, digital video cameras and portable GPS devices.  We also collect BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION, EUREKA PIZZA POWER POINTS, TYSON A+ LABELS and NESTLE WATER BOTTLE LABELS.  Funds raised are used to expand Gentry Primary School's Accelerated Reader program.   

Gentry Primary School P.T.O. recycles plastic shopping bags through Wal-Mart.  They will accept bags from any store.  

 Gentry Primary School is a smoke-free environment. 

 

MISCELLANEOUS INFO

KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT  2009-2010

The following documents are required by Arkansas State Law for enrollment.  

1)  Proof of your child's age such as birth certificate, passport, signed affidavit of birth, etc.  

A child must be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2009 in order to enroll in kindergarten for the 2009-2010 school year.  This change from September 15 to September 1 is required by a new state law, Act 29 of 2009.  This law also makes provision for children who attended a state-approved pre-kindergarten program during the 2008-2009 school year but will not meet the September 1 age requirement.  Parents of these children may apply for a waiver.  Waiver requirements are that a child must be five (5) years old on or before September 15, 2009, parents must provide proof of enrollment in a state-approved pre-kindergarten program and an attendance record showing that the child attended a minimum of 100 days. 

For the 2010-2011 school year, students may enter kindergarten in public schools of this state if they will attain the age of five (5) years on or before August 15, 2009.

For the 2011-2012 school year and afterwards, students may enter kindergarten in the public schools of this state if they will attain the age of five (5) years on or before August 1 of the year in which they are seeking initial enrollment.

Requirements are; 4-DTP   3 doses before fourth birthday AND 4th dose after fourth birthday;  3-Oral Polio  2 doses before fourth birthday AND 3rd dose after fourth birthday OR 4 doses total regardless of age2-MMR   1 dose after first birthday AND 2nd dose before kindergarten enrollment;  3-Hepatitis B before kindergarten enrollment; 1-Varicella (chickenpox) after first birthday OR proof that the child had the disease.

4)  Proof of Physical Assessment  The physical must be dated within 24 months of August 19, 2009
